Adam Napolitan (technology director)
Able to leap tall technological obstacles in a single bound, Adam Napolitan, our Technology Director, is the man who keeps Nappic, and to some degree Nappic’s clients, up to date with the newest technological innovations and know-how.
As a teen, Adam loved the movie “Apollo 13” about the 1970 Apollo flight to the moon that went bad. Adam used to re-enact the scene in the movie where Mission Control techies are given a list of items available to the astronauts in space, and the task to use that stuff to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the spaceship to make it back to Earth. Adam took what people call “movie re-enactments” to a new level. He randomly selected oddball items in the family garage and placed them in a box—similar to the way the scene plays out in “Apollo 13.” Then he set the challenge to create something technologically useful with the stuff. Adam always prevailed.
Adam has since put his extensive knowledge and skill to use in the work place. Schooled in both PC and Mac platforms, Adam has applied his knowledge to the science and technology fields, and now with Nappic, to the marketing and communications field.
At Environmental Health and Safety Services, Adam offered his strong math and science skills as a health physicist’s assistant and technician. As Computer Resource Specialist in UC Davis’ Counseling and Psychological Services department, Adam was responsible for everything from primary web development and firewall set-up/maintenance to technical support and hardware/software support.
With Nappic, Adam has taken Branding to a new level, which is especially important in a world where communication tools are rapidly advancing. Adam has given and continues to give Nappic the ability to optimize viral campaigns, networking capabilities, workflow and more.
Adam is currently seeking his Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering at UC Davis.
“Houston, we have a problem” might have been words that scared the Apollo 13 Mission Control flight crew to no end. For Adam, that type of phrase merely presents a wonderful challenge to take on and to conquer.
