We believe that branding is the foundation of your business, and that your brand needs to be solid before any collateral, web, advertising and/or public relations is produced. Today, businesses use branding as a marketing tool to identify their companies. However, people have been utilizing symbols and trademarks for centuries.

The early Christians relied on the symbol of the fish to identify each other secretly to avoid persecution.

During the Dark Ages, families used trademarks to identify each other and their possessions. These "coats of arms" were especially important because very few people could read at the time. Craftsmen during these times would also inscribe a personal mark on their products to show their calling.

More recently in the western civilization, ranchers used and still use branding irons to mark symbols on their livestock as a means to identify their animals. When a rancher brands his livestock, he's protecting his wealth because his cattle won't get confused with someone else's cattle—he won't lose his cattle to another rancher's herd.

A company’s brand is similar to a rancher’s brand in that it’s a wealth protector. A strong brand helps protect a company’s wealth because consumers buy, and will continue to buy what they know. They buy brands that stand for a set of ideas to live by, not just a service or a product. People know the Target brand. They know General Motors. They know Coca Cola. Strong brands will endure hard financial times because people know and live by strong brands.
